Video Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and creative Video Technician to join our dynamic team responsible for the programming, operation, and maintenance of our cutting-edge video systems across various entertainment venues onboard. As a Video Technician, you will have the opportunity to work with leading industry brands including Green Hippo Systems, Black Magic video hub and mixers, QSYS, QLAB, and Purelink, to create captivating and immersive environments as part of our engaging passenger programs.


Key Responsibilities

System Operation and Maintenance:

  • Demonstrate high proficiency in operating Green Hippo Systems, Black Magic video hub and mixers, QSYS, QLAB, and Purelink.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of technical performance standards for all associated video equipment in entertainment venues.

Show Production:

  • Oversee and execute responsibilities related to the production of professionally edited media content, including live capture, content editing, and delivery to the Broadcast Team.
  • Maintain the integrity of production shows by ensuring each video element aligns with the original designs.

Content Creation

  • Demonstrate high proficiency in operating Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite Products
  • Create and edit content to support shipboard events and departments, ensuring display on digital signage screens.
  • Develop a growing collection of engaging content to enhance live events in all venues.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on LED walls, projectors, and video camera technology.
  • Conduct thorough daily inspections of video systems, taking necessary actions for repair.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with Senior Production Manager, Guest Entertainers, and Entertainment Director to discuss and agree on production-related matters in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to other venues requiring video assistance as directed by the Senior Production Manager

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience operating, designing, and maintaining theatre, touring, and live entertainment video systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Green Hippo Systems, Black Magic Video Hub and mixers, QSYS, QLAB, Adobe Create Suite Products, and Final Cut Pro.
  • Previous experience with D3 and Content Creation is highly desirable.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and driven with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent English language skills.
