RESIDENT JAZZ TRIO - BAND LEADER

The new "Resident Jazz Trio" is a unique new element onboard the new Sky Princess as of October, 2019, anchoring the new venue "Take Five", under direction of the Resident Guest Entertainer (RGE) Jazz Trio Band Leader. Enchanted Princess will also feature the "Take Five" venue onboard, launching in June/July 2020.

Take 5 will feature our Resident Jazz Trio onstage nightly, delivering professional high-level jazz entertainment across all eras and genres of American jazz music. The trio will also perform themed sets that pay tribute to specific eras of jazz, as well as interpretations of familiar modern or classic pop music in jazz styles, in an exciting and engaging format, making use of provided visual media where appropriate, taking our guests on musical journeys to experience the full history and development of jazz.

Leading the band is no easy gig – and we are looking for just the right leader to perform in and host our new venue. Whether you play the guitar, piano, bass or drums - as long as you are not only a consummate jazz musician, but also an engaging and entertaining performer and story-teller, then you might be what we're looking for.

The Jazz Trio Band Leader is a Resident Guest Entertainer (RGE) position, reporting directly to the Entertainment Director, and responsible for oversight of the Jazz Trio's performance while onboard, including compliance with company Code of Conduct and meeting expected standards.

The Jazz Trio Band Leader will excel on the mic as emcee, engage with guests during performances, host events, and confidently deliver lectures or TED-Talks on various jazz history topics, using materials supplied.

Berthing available onboard will include one solo Resident GENT cabin for Jazz Trio Band Leader, and one shared Staff cabin for Jazz Trio Musicians.

Jazz Trios wishing to submit must be existing groups, with preference given to those that can demonstrate a recent history of performance together as an established group. All Jazz Trios applying should expect to be onboard for an assignment of at least 3 to 3.5 months.

All applications will be by video submission initially, submitted by the Jazz Trio Band Leader, with more materials requested, and/or live auditions to follow, if required. Only those submissions under consideration will be contacted.

**Jazz Trio Band Leader will receive a link to copy / paste and send via email to other members of the trio at the end of the application process
